In other new developments, Erie is now offering a “zinc rich” epoxy primer for steel substrates. This product is usually recommended for shot blasted steel, that is often not treated before powder coating. The zinc rich primer can significantly improve overall corrosion resistance of the finished product. This has been actively used in industries such as for truck tire refinishing. Now, after extensive testing against competitive products, we find that our product is as good or superior to our competitors for corrosion resistance.
There have been numerous changes in powder coatings in general, and Erie is helping to lead the industry towards newer and more innovative products.
Several product lines of note have experienced changes over the last year. These include:
Superdurables: Erie now offers a complete line of superdurable finishes. Most any color can now be custom made in these coatings, down to a single box. The finish on the superdurable products is excellent, and compares very well with standard outdoor durable polyesters for orange peel. The adhesion and flexibility of these products has been markedly improved over the years as well. The cost on these products has also dropped substantially in the last year, so if you just thought they were a little too expensive in the past, now might be the time to have another look.
Graffiti Resistant Finishes: Erie offers several graffiti resistant finishes. This allows a range of choice which is unequalled in the industry.
Super Chemical Resistant products: The “J Series” epoxy and urethane finishes are available. These products have incredible resistance to most chemicals. The “J Series” line of products have been tested to the SEFA chemical standards for chemical resistance.
